Young Muslims from all over New Jersey are coming together to raise money for the needy in East Africa.  All net proceeds are donated to Islamic Relief.

The second annual Ramadan for Relief fundraising dinner is co-hosted this year by Islamic Relief (IR-USA) and the Rutgers University Muslim Alumni Association (RUMAA). This year’s event is focused on Feeding the Forgotten.  Money raised will go towards efforts to help those hungry in East Africa.

According to a hadith in Sahih Muslim, The Prophet (may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, “Wealth does not diminish by giving charity. Allah raises the honor of one who forgives; and one who serves another (displaying humility) seeking the pleasure of Allah, Allah will exalt him in ranks.”

Let’s take this opportunity in the blessed month of Ramadan to open our hearts and give sincerely to those who need our help.
